Game #103 Nats showed that they still have some fight in ’em

Photo by Sol Tucker for TalkNats

Just when you thought the Washington Nationals were going to lay down and give up last Sunday in Arizona, they kind of did the opposite. The Nats won Sunday and the first two games against the best team in the National League in taking 2-of-3 from the Dodgers then took last night’s game from the Cardinals who are fighting for a spot in the NL Central and Wild Card race. The Nats have now won 4-of-6 games going into today, and this is what winning feels like. Continue reading

Game #102 Fedde was not traded; Espino starts in his spot

Photo by Sol Tucker for TalkNats

The internet geniuses were wrong again. Adding 10 + 10 together did not add up to 32. Erick Fedde was not traded today, even though it is that time of year. Players still get hurt, and Fedde went on the IL with inflammation in his shoulder. No structural damage per the reports. On regular rest due to Thursday’s day-off, Paolo Espino will start in Fedde’s spot. Continue reading

Game #101 Elijah Green is in the house, and Juan Soto too!

Photo from Elijah Green 2021 Area Code showcase

There is so much going on in the news today as the trade deadline is just four days away. The Washington Nationals will make one more call to agent Scott Boras to make a final push to extend a contract for Juan Soto. If they don’t get anything done, expect a good chance that a trade of Soto will happen in the next 96 hours. Also, The Nats №1 draft pick, Elijah Green, is at Nationals Park tonight with his family. The Nats set-up a locker for Green, and the first player to greet him was Soto.  Continue reading

Photo by Sol Tucker for TalkNats

We have reached game 100 as of today. With a season that was on the brink of being cancelled due to the failed negotiations in the CBA, here we are with just 62-games remaining in this season. The bigger date on the Washington Nationals calendar is the trade deadline which is just six days away. Continue reading

What could the #Nats realistically get in a Juan Soto trade?

Juan Soto could soon find himself shuffling in a different uniform. (Photo by Sol Tucker)

At this point, it’s the worst-kept secret in baseball that the Washington Nationals are at least taking offers on Juan Soto. In fact, to hear some “insiders” tell it, he’s all but out the door within the week, with the trade deadline fast approaching (it’s on August 2) and the Nats supposedly impatient to resolve the “Soto question” ahead of an expected sale of the team this offseason. Game #99 has a second chance for Gray against the team that traded him

Photo by Sol Tucker for TalkNats

Baseball gives many second chances, and what you do with it says a lot about you as a player. A year ago, the Dodgers traded Josiah Gray to the Washington Nationals. It was just a matter of time before Gray would face his former team, and he was not up to the task in their first head-to-head game. Tonight in Los Angeles, Gray is back on the mound where it all started for him. Hopefully Gray is Gray-t tonight. Continue reading
