The Washington Nationals are back home at the CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches for an early evening game in West Palm Beach, Florida. With just 16-days remaining in Florida for Grapefruit League games, we are almost at that mid-point mark on the schedule.
Some players have emerged and we posted up the small sample size leaders in OPS and in WHIP. What we try to look at is process over results because small sample sizes as well as the strength of the competition will skew numbers.

Get ready for four-days of top prospect baseball when all teams will showcase top prospect games with the inaugural SPRING BREAKOUT held from March 13-16 at Grapefruit and Cactus league stadiums starting a week from today and through that weekend. The Washington Nationals will get two Spring Breakout games that will be played on March 14 and March 16. The Cubs and Nationals are the only teams playing in two games this year.
The “Spring Breakout” game, which was a new concept that debuted last year, fields rosters of team’s future stars for a showcase in the middle of the Spring Training schedule. Teams are paired against nearby teams in the Grapefruit and Cactus leagues, and the Nats prospects will face the Astros prospects in the Friday night exhibition game and then the Mets prospects in the Sunday exhibition game.

The Washington Nationals lost another game in the 9th inning, and that is only somewhat acceptable as these late Spring Training games are a battle of minor league players. Manager Dave Martinez welcomes James Wood into the lineup for the first time this year in the outfield.
In case you missed it, Wood was recovering from minor quadricep tendinitis. Also, Luis Garcia Jr. returns to the lineup after an illness.

The Washington Nationals had another day-off yesterday that manager Dave Martinez said that was a true day-off, and we heard that the gates were locked to the team’s complex at the CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches. By the looks of it on social media, there was a lot of boating, golf, and video games being enjoyed by the players.
Of course there was huge breaking news on the MASN contract ending at the conclusion of this season, and that most likely the Nationals will have a new stadium name sponsor and jersey patch that they will unveil this summer per Chief Revenue Officer, Mike Carney, of the Nationals. Chief. Revenue. Officer. We love revenue enhancement when that turns into money to spend on players.

The Monday morning news on the Washington Nationals was far from the mundane on the team’s scheduled day-off from games and practice. After over 20-years under the Orioles’ MASN-controlled ownership of the Nationals local TV rights, Major League Baseball announced this morning that after the end of the 2025 season, “The Nationals will be free to explore alternatives for their television rights for the 2026 season and beyond.” The press release also added that, “As part of the settlement, all disputes related to past media rights … have been resolved, and all litigation will be dismissed.”

The Washington Nationals split their doubleheader yesterday to get to 4-4 on their Grapefruit League record. They have a game early this afternoon followed by another day-off tomorrow that manager Dave Martinez said that is a true day-off, and he is not planning on heading to the team’s complex at the CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches.
Yesterday’s games got in the work for both MacKenzie Gore and Michael Soroka — both throwing three innings of zeroes. Trevor Williams gets the start today, and we will see how far he pitches today as we are 3½ weeks to Opening Day.

We’ve also reduced the comment refresh delay from about 30 seconds to 10 seconds, making it much closer to real-time.

Repeated complaints without details don’t help us solve problems—we appreciate your patience as we continue refining the experience.
