The Washington Nationals are back to .500 and could use a win today to get above .500 and calm the fan base down after two back-to-back pitching meltdowns. Manager Blake Butera has a new lineup for today with Jose Tena at DH and Dylan Crews back in CF.
Former 1st round pick, Cade Cavalli, is back on the mound. The Nats need his best today. We are waiting for Cavalli to step up and be this team’s ace. He has shown glimpses. We need more. Time to give him the “A” defense also.
The Nats did make a roster move after last night’s game. Riley Cornelio has been optioned back to Triple-A with PJ Poulin getting the call back to the Nationals roster. Cornelio threw 4 1/3 innings last night and 73 pitches. It was highly anticipated that he would be sent back down for a fresh arm.
