Sometimes you get a rainbow after a storm. The Washington Nationals could use some good fortune after Wednesday’s crushing loss in San Francisco. Once this game gets going, Zack Littell will be the starter against Bryce Miller of the Seattle Mariners.
This weekend series is part of two back-to-back interleague series against American League teams at Nationals Park.
The Nationals made no roster moves today after expectations grew that the team needed to make some changes. Manager Blake Butera said he wasn’t going to make roster demotions based on one bad game. Well, for some of the Nats players, it’s been more than one bad game.
In an unrelated roster move, the Nationals have claimed RHP Jhancarlos Lara off outright waivers from the Atlanta Braves and optioned him to Double-A Harrisburg. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Nats DFA’d RHP Julian Fernandez.
