Nats Win Home Run Derby, Even Series with LA: A Recap

In the most Dave Martinez-Nats fashion as possible, the slumping Nationals broke out in a big way tonight, against the Dodgers of all teams. If somebody asked me ten years ago to describe the state of baseball in 2025, this game would be a prime example. The teams combined to hit eight home runs in this one, no defense can stop that.

Game #77 Nats with a chance to even up the series

The Washington Nationals had another 1-run loss last night that you could chalk up to defensive issues while the Dodgers sealed their win on a game saving diving catch. The ball was flying last night and both teams took advantage of it.

Back In The Negatives, Nats Drop First Game in LA: A Recap

For the Nationals tonight, it was one of those in-between games where, as a fan, there’s grounds for saying either “well that didn’t go well” or for saying “well I guess that could have gone worse.” From the time the Dodgers took the lead in the third inning on, it was clear they were in control of the game, yet the Nats stuck around all night, always a couple of inches away from tying or taking the lead.

James Wood, that’s the headline. Nats Snap Losing Streak: A Recap

Please allow me to speak for all of us Nats fans when I say it wasn’t pretty, but today, I couldn’t care less. The fifty-tons of heavy bricks that’s been resting on our collective shoulders over the past week or two has been lifted, just when it appeared we were in for another disappointment until James Wood‘s 2-run walk-off in the 11th inning halted the 11-game losing streak.

Game #75 Nats in a salvage operation!

The Washington Nationals are in a dark place in team history and trying to avoid their first 12-game losing streak since the 2008 season. Credit to the Rockies for some exceptional defense and making some Nats’ hitters look bad. How will manager Dave Martinez counter today? The same lineup as yesterday with the struggling Keibert Ruiz catching a day game after a night game. Ruiz is batting at a .598 OPS on the season after a promising start in April.
