At The Buzzer! Nats Win Final Series In June: A Recap

The Washington Nationals tied the bow on a 7-19 month of June this afternoon with….. their first series win this month. Look, nothing about the way they played this month should have us jumping for joy, but considering how unlikely victory seemed at times today, with the Nats bottom of the order up to bat in the 9th inning, and going up against Angels’ closer Kenley Jansen, who did not have a blown save — until today. A feel good ending to get out of June with their only series win. A happy flight back to Washington, D.C.

Game #84 Nats need to finish June on a high note

The Washington Nationals put up game results yesterday that looked like their April results with little offense and a bullpen meltdown after a great effort by a starting pitcher. Michael Soroka finished at 6.0 innings of 1-run baseball and exited with a 2-1 lead. The bullpen managed to give up 7-runs in their 2.0 innings of combined work. It took four relievers to get the 6-outs, and of course they didn’t need to pitch a 9th inning because the Nats were losing in a road game.

Exactly 2 weeks until the Nats choose №1 overall in the MLB Draft

If you have never been to a yearling auction, the parallels to agent Scott Boras parading his players is eerily similar, except the venue doesn’t smell like horse manure, just plenty of vibes of bullsh##. The man is a master of sales and the art of manipulation, that often calls his tactics into question. In the case of Ethan Holliday, the presumptive №1 pick in the draft that is just two weeks away, he has bloodlines like you announce at a thoroughbred auction because that is a key factor in the breeding process.

Bullpen Woes Return To Haunt the Nats: A Recap

It’s been a really good week overall from the Nationals’ bullpen. Unfortunately, when your bullpen enters that week second to last in the league in ERA, they’re likely doomed to regress to the mean eventually. We saw that regression tonight.

Game #83 Soroka and his extra rest day

The Washington Nationals scored two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion en route to a 15-run drubbing of the Los Angeles Angels. The game was actually close until the late innings when the Nats pummeled the Angels’ bullpen.

On the mound starting for the Nats’ in tonight’s game is Michael Soroka. What he and his manager Dave Martinez need to figure out is when it is time to go to the bullpen. Soroka hits the wall suddenly as we have seen in all but one start this season. Soroka pitches on an extra day of rest in this time through the rotation.

Game #82 Nationals are back in LA

The Washington Nationals got a pitching gem from MacKenzie Gore and kind of wasted his 6.0 innings of 1-run baseball in a 1-0 loss. This season starts its mathematical second half with this game against the Angels as the team is back in the Los Angeles area.

For this game, the Nationals have Jake Irvin on the mound. The Angels head into this game at 40-40, and they called a closed door team meeting it was reported this afternoon.
