Last night, there was a moment leading up to 8:35 pm ET that the Washington Nationals Top-3 prospects, Dylan Crews, James Wood, and Brady House were all simultaneously 2-for-3 in their games in-progress. All of that changed in an instant when Crews obliterated a first-pitch fastball for a grand slam at 8:35 pm ET. Crews finished his evening with a monster 4-for-5 game plus a walk, and Wood and House finished with 2-for-3s and each one had matching bruises as a reminder of being tattooed via a hit-by-pitch. That is a combined 8-for-11 with a grand slam home run, two doubles, a walk, and two hit-by-pitches. All of that could be coming to a Nats’ lineup near you in the future.

The Washington Nationals had an early three lead, and gave up five runs to Kyle Schwarber in a tough loss. On to the second game of this doubleheader with Josiah Gray on the mound against the lefty, Ranger Suarez.

The Washington Nationals are facing a few of the ex-Washington Nationals in Philadelphia in a key doubleheader for the Phillies. There is actually one fewer ex-Nats’ player as Josh Harrison was released. The Nats’ starter in the first game today is Trevor Williams, as he returned from an extended leave on the bereavement list, and the Nats had to skip his start on Saturday. He will have to face a trio of ex-Nats in Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, and Bryce Harper. By the way, Harper said after Sunday’s game that he wished that he started his career in Philadelphia. Is he still upset that the Nats won a World Series just 8-months after he signed with the Phillies?

The Washington Nationals are going for their second sweep of 2023. If it were to happen, the Nats would go into the final 50-games of the season on quite the roll as the team heads to Philly for a 4-game series to finish this road trip.

The Washington Nationals showed some more late night magic, and Andres Machado and Jake Alu were two of the unexpected heroes. Of course Lane Thomas cranked two home runs, and Joey Meneses‘ crushed the game tying 2-run homer for the big power display — but the full team contributed along with manager Dave Martinez pulling the right strings.

The Washington Nationals had the day-off yesterday in Cincinnati before the teams open a weekend series. The Nats have a score to settle with the Reds after they swept the Nats in a 4-game series in D.C. during that July 4th holiday series. If you removed those 4-games against the Reds, the Nats were 18-12 in that span — but since those games count — the Nats were 18-16 in the team’s 34-game span, and that started in San Diego at the end of June. Just think if this team could go 18-16 in the next 34 games.

We recently upgraded our comment system to improve reliability, performance, and long-term control, and we’re currently running both systems during the transition. This shift moves us away from an external service to a system we run and control directly—meaning we own the content and can continue improving it over time. We’ve also reduced the comment refresh delay from about 30 seconds to 10 seconds, making it much closer to real-time.
We understand there have been frustrations and increased feedback, and we’re actively working to improve things. What we ask is simple: use the system and give it a fair shot. If you run into issues, please submit them through the support form so we can track and fix them properly. Repeated complaints without details don’t help us solve problems—we appreciate your patience as we continue refining the experience.
