Three in a row with all Curly W’s feels great!

With Paolo Espino giving another great outing, he handed it over to the bullpen with a 2-0 lead in the 6th inning, In mere minutes, Austin Voth blew the save and the lead and Espino’s hard-earned potential W was gone. The good news is the Nats bats got busy again and scored three runs of their own to take back the lead, and the rest of the bullpen threw zeros in three perfect frames to seal the win.

The official scorer did not give the win to Voth, rather he gave it to Kyle Finnegan who pitched the following inning. Daniel Hudson got a hold in the 8th and Brad Hand got the save in the 9th with a nice 6-3 win.

A milestone was achieved tonight when Josh Bell hit his 100th career home run, and he did it in the right-handed batter’s box in a pinch-hitting spot. Tres Barrera had another big night as did Yadiel Hernandez with a nice pinch-hitting RBI single.

On the tough news side, Alcides Escobar had to exit the game after he took a fastball off of his right wrist. We await any news on his condition.
