There might be gray skies headed to Washington, and at some point Josiah Gray should be on the mound to face the Atlanta Braves when the skies are not threatening rain. In Gray’s last start, it was against these Braves in a game that he held them to one earnie over 5.0 innings of work, with an impressive 10 K’s. The wind came out of the sails on the Washington Nationals, not once, but twice today , as they blew two separate 3-run leads and eventually lost the game in a disappointing 8-7 final at CitiField in Queens, New York. Due to the rain yesterday, the earlier game became part of a day/night doubleheader. Now it is raining again, and this second game is now in jeopardy of being postponed. Yesterday’s game was suspended in the second inning, and the entire pitching plan has changed. Continue reading

We saw some promising signs from Patrick Corbin five days ago in his previous start for the Washington Nationals. He had his slider working for 6.0 innings but hit the wall and fell apart when he came out for the seventh inning. Of course, Corbin is still basically a two-pitch hurler and that has been an issue when his slider isn’t biting. When the slider looks like the fastball — until it takes a right turn, Corbin looks like the star from 2019 and previous seasons. It is a devastating swing and miss pitch for opposing batters when the slider is biting. In 2019, Corbin’s slider was rated as the fourth most valuable pitch in baseball. Continue reading
The Washington Nationals five-game losing streak is over in dramatic fashion as one of the new guys, Riley Adams, in the ninth inning crushed the go-ahead 2-run home run into the upper deck of Truist Park. It turned out to be a game winner as the Nats handed Will Smith a blown save in this one.
Starter Josiah Gray pitched a 10 K beauty in 5.0 innings of work giving up 1 earned run in this one. He had swing and miss stuff working all night. In the end, he induced 20 Braves swing and misses over his 5.0 innings. Many came on a spiked slider in the dirt and most on his curveball. Continue reading

With a 5-game losing streak that must be stopped, the newly acquired Josiah Gray gets his second start for the Washington Nationals and is tasked with getting his team the W. The Braves have a 4-game winning streak and these are two teams going in different directions this year. That is fine as the Nats made the conscious decision to step back for what GM Mike Rizzo said was to take “two steps forward.” Continue reading

This shift moves us away from an external service to a system we run and control directly—meaning we own the content and can continue improving it over time. We’ve also reduced the comment refresh delay from about 30 seconds to 10 seconds, making it much closer to real-time.
We understand there have been frustrations and increased feedback, and we’re actively working to improve things. What we ask is simple: use the system and give it a fair shot. If you run into issues, please submit them through the support form so we can track and fix them properly. Repeated complaints without details don’t help us solve problems—we appreciate your patience as we continue refining the experience.
