Game #111 The Nats have a 5-game losing streak to STOP!

With a 5-game losing streak that must be stopped, the newly acquired Josiah Gray gets his second start for the Washington Nationals and is tasked with getting his team the W. The Braves have a 4-game winning streak and these are two teams going in different directions this year. That is fine as the Nats made the conscious decision to step back for what GM Mike Rizzo said was to take “two steps forward.”

The Nats lineup has Juan Soto out again as he nurses a knee contusion. He had an MRI today that revealed no structural damage. With the Nats going nowhere this year, there is no reason to push Soto.

The Braves have their veteran pitcher on the mound, Charlie Morton, to try to give the Braves an advantage. Manager Dave Martinez has gone with lefty Andrew Stevenson to start this one in centerfield.
