This game can be cruel, and it took another victim as Sean Doolittle heads to the 10-day IL with a strained throwing elbow. With his previous arm injuries, his future could be in jeopardy. This year, Doo has been brilliant on the mound pitching in nearly half of the Washington Nationals games this season with almost perfect stuff over 5 1/3 innings yielding just one baserunner.
There were a bunch of roster moves as the Nats will carry 12 position players, five starting pitchers, and 12 relievers now. Sam Clay is up and Fernando Perez will stay as Donovan Casey‘s five-day tour of the Nats’ bench didn’t yield any playing time — and he was shipped back to Rochester Triple-A. Continue reading

We’ve also reduced the comment refresh delay from about 30 seconds to 10 seconds, making it much closer to real-time.
