The Washington Nationals have listed Miles Mikolas as their starting pitcher on the lineup card meaning there is no opener unless they change-up things before the game. These are the games where you hope that the Nats have figured something out with this decision.
The series is tied 1-1 with two blowouts for each team. On the Vegas lines, the money is on the Mets. And if the Mets lose, will their manager, Carlos Mendoza be fired? The vultures are circling for sure after both Alex Cora and Rob Thomson were fired by their teams this past week.
With the Mets starting righty Freddy Peralta, the Nats are going with a very lefty lineup today with switch-hitters and only Jacob Young as the team’s righty in the 9th spot in the order.
With Cade Cavalli throwing 6.0 innings last night, manager Blake Butera was able to only have to use three relievers. That will give Butera multiple options with long-man Mitchell Parker fresh. Here is a chart of bullpen usage:
