At this point in meaningful series, the Washington Nationals are just trying to show that they can still compete. The Mets and Braves are separated by just 2 ½ games in the standings, and the Braves are feeling it as they are playing with a lot of swagger. They torched the Nats last night, and today’s contest has Patrick Corbin versus Kyle Wright who has been the Braves’ best right-handed pitcher this year.
For some good news, Juan Soto‘s bat really woke up yesterday. He crushed a home run and had a nice oppo single. The issue has been that every time he has looked to be fixed he would follow up with a sub-par game. Here’s to hoping that this is part of a great second half run for the Magic Juan’d.
Of note, the weather looks really bad in the Atlanta area so it is a wait and see if they get this game in.
