Game #26 Nats are hoping to keep up the scoring!

We are back to the top of the Washington Nationals rotation once again as Patrick Corbin, the Opening Day starter, takes the mound tonight for his sixth start of the 2022 season. He is a veteran pitcher who played most of  his career in the NL West, and this will be his 14th start in Coors Field in Colorado. His career ERA there is 5.91, but it is a mixed bag of successes and failures there. Last year, Corbin pitched 6.0 innings of 2-run baseball for one of his good starts there.

While this game was schedule to start at 6:40 pm in local time in Colorado, the game will not start on time due to rain. If you have heard that before, it is just part of the frustration when playing in cities without retractable roofs. So stay tuned to see if they can play this game.

On the Nats lineup, manager Dave Martinez is sitting DH Nelson Cruz who is nursing some aches and pains in his lower back. He left last night’s game early. Yadiel Hernandez will DH in this lineup with Lane Thomas in leftfield. Riley Adams is catching Corbin again.

The Rockies have lefty Austin Gomber on the mound tonight. This will be the 43rd start of his career. He was originally a fourth round draft pick of the Cardinals and has worked as both a reliever and a starter.
