Game #19 Nats are streaking in the wrong direction and must face Marlins’ Ace!

The losing streak stands at five games for the Washington Nationals, and they have to face Sandy Alcantara tonight for the Miami Marlins. While Alcantara is so tough to score on when he is pitching in Miami, he can be beat on the road. Last year he had a home ERA of 2.41 vs. 4.01 on the road. This year, so far, he is even better at a 1.86 ERA at home and a road ERA of 3.60. The Nationals have their best starting pitcher this year going tonight. Josiah Gray enters with a 3.14 ERA and his first win of the season in his previous start. Manager Dave Martinez had another lineup re-ordering. Yadiel Hernandez has been moved up to bat behind Josh Bell, and it is good to see Bell back in the lineup after two days of rest after he tweaked his knee and hamstring. There were no roster moves today, and Joan Adon remains on the active roster. Dee Strange-Gordon is off COVID protocol and is with the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings and starting tonight in leftfield and leading off.
