Game #145 the Nats look to score some runs!

The Washington Nationals were shutout last night and almost were the victim of a no-hitter. They will face Jesús Luzardo who the Nats traded away in the Sean Doolittle deal. Luzardo at one-time was the top lefty pitching prospect in all of baseball. In his last three starts, he has put together a 2.60 ERA over 17 1/3 innings.

For the Nats, it will be Erick Fedde with the start tonight. After this start, he might have just two remaining starts to go in the 2021 season to show that he should have a spot in the 2022 rotation.

Because the Nats are facing a lefty starter tonight, Ryan Zimmerman will start at first base, and Josh Bell will be in left field. Behind the plate, the team could have inserted Riley Adams in there, but instead opted for Keibert Ruiz to handle Fedde.

Manager Dave Martinez had a new cast but on his foot and ankle after another procedure today. If he cannot manager the team, bench coach Tim Bogar will take over.
