Game #63 as the Nats must get the bats going with great pitching!

After winning 2 of the last 3 games against the team with the best record in baseball, the Nats must go on a run here against possibly the worst team in baseball as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in a 3-game set.

The Nats will have Jon Lester on the mound tonight, and this comes two days before Max Scherzer was supposed to re-seed into the rotation on Wednesday after he hurt his adductor in his groin. Scherzer tried to throw a bullpen session but did not feel well enough, and he will not pitch for the Nats on Wednesday. The team will probably pitch Paolo Espino in his place unless they make a surprise callup.

The Pirates are pitching righty JT Brubaker. He has only faced two of the Nats before, and the Nats will sit Alex Avila tonight so Brubaker won’t face him.

Manager Dave Martinez will stick with Kyle Schwarber once again in the leadoff, and Josh Bell, the former Pirates first baseman, will start in this one.
