My goal is to put into words what the Washington Nationals did in any given game. That’s what you do in a postgame report. This team has now rendered me unable to even do that. This four game stretch has put me in a spot I’ve never been in before, I’m speechless. I’ve been watching this team find ways to amaze us with how incompetent they can be for years but this is an all new low.

The Washington Nationals are mired in another losing streak. This one is 5-games, and the Nats need their ace, MacKenzie Gore, to pitch like one tonight and lead Washington to victory. The Oakland A’s are in town for this 3-game series before the Nats head back west another road trip. The season is getting close to finished with just 50-games remaining.

The Rizzo Family Foundation held their second RizKids charity event at the MGM National Harbor, and it was another smashing success! The event was well attended by Washington Nationals players, past and present, as well as hundreds of people that were able to sign-up before it was sold-out.
Everyone knows the Rizzo name with Mike Rizzo’s World Series win as the former GM of the team, but it is Jodi Rizzo who is the chief architect of the event. Once again, she nailed every aspect of the event that began with a blackjack tournament then went to a barbecue dinner with an open bar.

Today’s game at Nationals Park was supposed to feature the Brewers young ace RHP Jacob Misiorowski — but that won’t happen. He was just placed on the 15-day injured list due to a left tibia contusion. The Washington Nationals will send arguably their best pitcher on the mound today in Brad Lord. This is a salvage game for the Nationals in this 3-game weekend series.

The best news I have for you all is that compared to last night’s game, the Washington Nationals played much better today. That wasn’t a very high bar, but at least they only lost by 6-runs and not seven. The Brewers came out in the first inning today and put up three runs in the first inning to pick up where they left off last night, but to the Nats’ pitching staff’s credit, this game did not turn into the disaster that last night was, or anything resembling it.

The Washington Nationals have Jake Irvin on the mound and going up against the Brewers’ Brandon Woodruff who was excellent when the Nats faced him in July. Today is Jacob Young bobblehead day, and he will sit against Woodruff.

The Washington Nationals lost by a touchdown. “It doesn’t get more abysmal than this,” was a thought from one of the Apple TV broadcasters calling the game tonight. And I couldn’t have said it better myself. The Nationals just allowed 25 hits and 16 runs in a game to a team whose manager sat in the dugout eating ‘pocket’ pancakes during the game.
The more shocking thing is that the Nats were at one point winning this game, if only major league games were just an inning long. This was most definitely not the game to watch alone in my dark bedroom, so let’s do the most healthy thing I can think of to do and go right back over how we got here.

The Washington Nationals are back home to face a very good Brewers team that wants to win the NL Central and go all the way. Did they do enough at the trade deadline? The Nats sure did, and you will see several new players who are taking the place of Alex Call, Mike Soroka, Kyle Finnegan, Luis Garcia (the reliever), and Andrew Chafin. Of course Zach Brzykcy was the only player added to the roster on Wednesday as the Nats played a man short. The previous week they added Jose Tena back to the roster to replace the traded Amed Rosario.

We recently upgraded our comment system to improve reliability, performance, and long-term control, and we’re currently running both systems during the transition. This shift moves us away from an external service to a system we run and control directly—meaning we own the content and can continue improving it over time. We’ve also reduced the comment refresh delay from about 30 seconds to 10 seconds, making it much closer to real-time.
We understand there have been frustrations and increased feedback, and we’re actively working to improve things. What we ask is simple: use the system and give it a fair shot. If you run into issues, please submit them through the support form so we can track and fix them properly. Repeated complaints without details don’t help us solve problems—we appreciate your patience as we continue refining the experience.
