Click to Read an Important Member Update Regarding Our Comment System
We recently upgraded our comment system to improve reliability, performance, and long-term control, and we’re currently running both systems during the transition. This shift moves us away from an external service to a system we run and control directly—meaning we own the content and can continue improving it over time. We’ve also reduced the comment refresh delay from about 30 seconds to 10 seconds, making it much closer to real-time.
We understand there have been frustrations and increased feedback, and we’re actively working to improve things. What we ask is simple: use the system and give it a fair shot. If you run into issues, please submit them through the support form so we can track and fix them properly. Repeated complaints without details don’t help us solve problems—we appreciate your patience as we continue refining the experience.

The Washington Nationals have a chance for the rare sweep today to wrap-up their series with the Marlins at Nationals Park. Immediately after the game, the Nats head to Chicago with a day-off ahead of Friday afternoon’s game at Wrigley Field.
Mark it, yesterday was one of the rare instances this season where I asked for a strong outing from a Nationals’ starting pitcher, and actually got it. Cade Cavalli took the mound last night for the first time since getting lit up in a blowout at Yankee Stadium, and the rookie showed an immense amount of maturity, bouncing back with a winning start.
The Washington Nationals ended their long losing streak with a win to remember as Andrew Alvarez had one of the best statistical debuts in Nats history. We will see what he does this weekend in Wrigley Field. Baseball is all about, “What have you done for me lately.” And that is exactly how the fans feel about Cade Cavalli who starts today after he got shelled last week in Yankee Stadium in 2⅓ innings with 7 earned runs surrendered.
Well, that was a much-needed breath of fresh air for Washington Nationals fans everywhere. The Nats brought home a 2-0 win over the Marlins yesterday to snap the eight-game losing streak, and in the process, could have found a new member of their starting rotation. Andrew Alvarez started on the bump in this one, making his major league debut along with his battery mate, CJ Stubbs, who was also making his debut. This was a combo that I’ll admit scared me. It turned out to be a brilliant move, as Alvarez gave us five scoreless innings, and Stubbs caught a shutout in his debut, the first time since 2019 that’s happened in the majors.
The only scoring in this one came in the bottom of the second inning. If anyone on this team has quit and given up on this season, all I know is it’s not Daylen Lile. An RBI triple by Lile, his fifth triple of the season, put the Nats ahead 1-0, and that lead was doubled by Andres Chaparro, who brought Lile home on a sacrifice fly.

The Washington Nationals have a pair of debuts today with Andrew Alvarez as their starting pitching and CJ Stubbs as his catcher. While Stubbs came up last week to replace the injured Drew Millas, Alvarez essentially replaces MacKenzie Gore in the rotation. The Nationals took advantage of their two September callups to bring up Alvarez and Nasim Nunez.

The Nationals capped off a winless week and extended their losing streak to eight games with a 7-4 loss to the Rays this afternoon. Brad Lord followed up his worst career start with an even worse one this afternoon, going just three innings and allowing seven runs. It just feels like every game this week, and most of the season for that matter, has blended together, and not in a good way.
The Washington Nationals wrap-up their August schedule while currently mired in a 7-game losing streak — and Brad Lord is the pitcher the Nationals pin their hopes on to be the stopper. On the 8th day, they need Lord to be the ace.
The Washington Nationals are finishing up their August schedule in this final weekend of the month, while currently mired in a 6-game losing streak. The Nats went 0-12 with RISP and left 13 runners on-base in last night’s game that resulted in a 4-1 loss. That is a new level of ineptitude.
