Series preview: Nationals vs Marlins

Something happened in Minnesota because Washington has been on a tear since the Twins vs. Nationals series. The Nationals have won four of their last seven games, and they’ve been very competitive in 80.5 percent of all contests this season. But, unfortunately, after starting 1-6, the Nationals started in a deep hole, and just digging their way out. Now the Nats are just two games behind a wild card spot thanks to a Phillies loss last night. Sorry, I need to repeat that. The Nationals are two games out of the playoffs. And now it’s not 2025. It’s 2023.

Game #41 Split series is the best the Nats can do at the quarter pole of the season!

There is certainly a lot of Washington Nationals news today. The Nats and Mets are getting set to play the fourth game in this weekend wrap-around Monday game. In the season series, the teams are now 3-3, and the Nats need this win to split this series 2-2 and go up 4-3 in the season series against the Mets. In the top of the third inning of this game, the season will be officially 25 percent complete. Time certainly flies. There were also roster moves today.

Game #40 Nats come up huge in the afternoon and need another!

The Washington Nationals bent but didn’t break in the afternoon win today, and thanks to the bat of CJ Abrams for getting the Nats two different leads in this game as he now leads the team in RBIs. Abrams’ home run in the seventh inning was not as dramatic as a walk-off, but it was a game winner, slugged with his pink Mother’s Day bat, that gave him 411 feet of distance above the center field wall.

Game #39 After a blown-loss, Nats must even it up!

The Washington Nationals got out to a 2-run lead last night, and could not bring home the win. Their 6-13 home record at this point is beginning to defy logic. It just seemed like a combination of bad luck, bad umpiring, and not taking advantage of the other team’s mistakes that put a tough one in the loss column.
