The Nationals have activated Corey Dickerson and optioned Jake Alu

The Washington Nationals have announced two roster moves ahead of their series finale with the New York Mets.

Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo announced that OF Corey Dickerson will be reinstated from the 10-day Inured List. INF Jake Alu has been optioned to Triple-A Rochester in the corresponding move. The Nationals also returned RHP Cory Abbott to Triple-A after he was used as the 27th man in yesterday’s doubleheader.

Game #40 Nats come up huge in the afternoon and need another!

The Washington Nationals bent but didn’t break in the afternoon win today, and thanks to the bat of CJ Abrams for getting the Nats two different leads in this game as he now leads the team in RBIs. Abrams’ home run in the seventh inning was not as dramatic as a walk-off, but it was a game winner, slugged with his pink Mother’s Day bat, that gave him 411 feet of distance above the center field wall.

Game #39 After a blown-loss, Nats must even it up!

The Washington Nationals got out to a 2-run lead last night, and could not bring home the win. Their 6-13 home record at this point is beginning to defy logic. It just seemed like a combination of bad luck, bad umpiring, and not taking advantage of the other team’s mistakes that put a tough one in the loss column.

Game #38 Nats have a 4-gamer with the Mets!

The Washington Nationals are finally back to Nats Park after their second west coast road trip in this young season. With a wrap-around 4-game weekend series starting tonight through Monday with the New York Mets, the Nats aren’t here for long as the schedulers send them back out for on the road on Tuesday for a brief road trip in Miami.

Game #37 16 games in 16 days concludes a team defining stretch!

If the Washington Nationals win today, it will feel like a “Sweet 16” as the Nats would complete a tough stretch of 16-games in 16-days with a winning record (9-7), and hop on a very “happy flight” back to Washington, D.C. If only they had Brian Dozier singing Calma on the plane ride, but maybe Victor Robles can do his rendition of the song. This team is so close to be legitimately good. Right now, they just are not taking advantage enough of the good starting pitching they are getting.

Game #36 Patrick Corbin has a new LF

Five days ago, Patrick Corbin was throwing a 1-hit scoreless gem through 7.0 innings. It unraveled from there a little when he was sent out for the eighth inning, but still one of his finest starts in a Washington Nationals uniform. Tonight, he gets a chance to pitch in a ballpark that he pitched in annually when he was a member of the Diamondbacks in the NL West. It won’t be easy as he faces Logan Webb who had been the Giants’ ace in recent years.
