The Washington Nationals start a 4-game series against the Atlanta Braves. The Braves are in first place in the NL East and the Nats are behind them in second place. The Nats will try to continue what the team did yesterday, and hope that Jake Irvin can put up zeros in his start.
The Nats offense continues to score runs, and the team is in the Top-3 of many offensive categories. While home runs have not been as numerous as the streak they had been on, the team is still scoring runs.
The team brought up Julian Fernandez as an extra bullpen arm and sent Andrew Alvarez back to Triple-A Rochester. A move that was made just to get another fresh arm up. Here is a chart of usage on manager Blake Butera‘s bullpen:
