Game #8 The Nats need a stopper. Calling on MacKenzie Gore!

Who expected a Coors Field game to finish in a full 9.0 innings with a final score of 1-0 between two teams with so many imperfections? It was the twelfth 1-0 game in Colorado’s history and the first with the new shift rules. Kyle Freeland is the ace of the Rockies staff, and Josiah Gray sure pitched like one for the Nats. The only run that scored came off of a sun monster double that Lane Thomas could not see through the sunshine. It was unfortunate, and Gray deserved better. Today, the Nats turn again to MacKenzie Gore to be the stopper. This losing streak is at a painful four straight games.

Here are your Nationals starting pitcher’s ERAs through yesterday’s game:

No. 5 Starter: Patrick Corbin 8.00 ERA
No. 4 Starter: Chad Kuhl 7.20
No. 3 Starter: Trevor Williams 5.40
No. 2 Starter: Josiah Gray 4.91
No. 1 Starter: MacKenzie Gore 1.69

The Nats need Gore to be great in this game, and they also need someone(s) to step up and score some runs for this Nats’ offense that only put together two hits in one inning just once last night.

Here is your Baseball Savant Statcast link for the game.
