Game #129 A’s for the first-time ever in Nats Park

There have been plenty of Oakland A’s players traded to the Washington Nationals like Gio Gonzalez at the top of the list with Sean Doolittle and others. But the Oakland A’s team has never played before at Nationals Park until tonight (weather permitting).

The A’s have Cole Irvin pitching tonight, and while he has been aces while pitching in Oakland — he’s a 4.88 ERA on the road. The Nats face the lefty tonight, and in the final game of the series on Thursday, the A’s will call-up lefty Ken Waldichuk who headlined the Frankie Montas trade with the Yankees. He was to face Nats top pitching prospect Cade Cavalli who went on the IL today with shoulder inflammation and the team says no structural damage.

The Nats have Erick Fedde on the mound tonight, and Anibal Sanchez vs. James Kaprielian tomorrow, and expect Cory Abbott to take Cavalli’s place in the rotation on Thursday.
