Nats Affiliates Win Three of Four for Friday’s MiLB Recap!

Class-A Fredericksburg “FredNats” Nationals

Andry Lara was great in six innings of work, surrendering two runs on four hits, a walk, and seven strikeouts. Unfortunately, he didn’t get any run support. The FredNats were held to three total hits – coming from catcher Allan Berrios. They lost 3-0.

High-A Wilmington Blue Rocks

Seth Shuman twirled another quality start for the Blue Rocks on Friday. His ERA is down to 2.41 and could be next in line for a promotion, if he keeps this up. The bullpen besides Matt Merrill was lights out. The game was tied until the 8th when Yasel Antuna scored on a wild pitch from Eddy Yean, a former Nationals prospect. Yean was sent to the Pirates along with Wil Crowe in exchange for Josh Bell. Antuna was the only player to tally multiple hits and he stole his 13th base. Blue Rocks win 4-3.

Double-A Harrisburg Senators

The Senators offense was a juggernaut yesterday. They scored seven runs on 17 (!) hits. Jake Alu and Wilson Garcia hit homers. Jack Dunn and Garcia both had four hits. Alfredo Rodriguez and Gilbert Lara had three a piece. Alex Troop was tremendous on the bump striking out nine in five shutout innings. Sens win 7-3.

Triple-A Rochester Red Wings

Stephen Strasburg was back on the mound for his third rehab start, this time for the Red Wings. In 83 pitches, Stras tossed six innings of one hit ball and only walked one batter. Another great step in his return to the Nats. Donovan Casey was the player of the day after going 2-3 with a homer, the difference in a one run ball game. Wings win 2-1.

Farm System final notes 🎶

The Nats’ minor league system had quite the night winning three of four and showing some much needed offense around the affiliates.
