Game #126 Nats have Patrick Corbin on the mound!

We get to see another Patrick Corbin start, and we have to focus on the process and not the results as Corbin is tinkering with his mechanics and also his pitch sequencing. He has been great the last three times out with an ERA of 0.82 the first two times through the batting orders. Not as great the third time through the opposing batting order. But Corbin arguably turned in his best performance of his season last weekend with no walks in that game.

This is a getaway game and unfortunately the Marlins scheduled this for a night game and the Washington Nationals will arrive in NY most likely past 2 am in the morning.

The Marlins have Elieser Hernandez on the mound. The right-hander throws a three pitch mix of 4-seam fastball, slider and changeup. Here is the splits in how much he throws those pitches on average in a game: 4-Seam Fastball (54.8%) Slider (33.3%) Changeup (11.9%). The 26-year-old has been an inconsistent pitcher who is still trying to figure it out.

Back in manager Dave Martinez‘s lineup is Victor Robles in centerfield, and Lane Thomas will be on the bench. We will see if Robles steps up tonight with some extra motivation.
