Game #121 Nats are in Milwaukee with their new look!

If the Washington Nationals were in the playoff hunt, they would have lucked out in this Brewers series this weekend because they will miss all of the Brewers’ “Big-3” starting pitchers of Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes, and Freddy Peralta. That trio has formed one of the most talented trios of starters in all of baseball.

The Nats are set to face Brett Anderson tonight, Eric Lauer tomorrow, and Adrian Houser on Sunday in Milwaukee. The Nats should be pitching Patrick Corbin, Paolo Espino, and a TBD in this series. With all of the days off that the Nats have had, they could skip the spot that Joe Ross was to occupy after he was shutdown for the season with a tear in his UCL, and the team could pitch Erick Fedde on Sunday if they wanted to go with him on regular rest. We will see what the Nats decide to do.

As of now, the Nats have TBDs for starting pitchers for this entire series. We should find out shortly as to the official name for the starting pitcher tonight. The team could go with Sean Nolin, a spot starter, or some bullpen arms. Nolin was called up eight days ago, pitched three innings of uninspiring baseball when he gave up four earned runs.

Juan Soto does not have much of a resumé hitting in Milwaukee, just three games, but of his two hits in that city, one of them is a home run. Most would say the former Miller Park was a hitter’s paradise but Soto said he didn’t see the ball as well in there.  In fact with roofs closed, Soto is batting just .211 in those stadiums in his career.  This would be a good time for Soto to raise his averages.

There does not appear to be any news on any roster moves. With the day-off yesterday, everyone should be fresh. The Nats are coming off of that two-game sweep of the Blue Jays.
