Back to even for the Nats in 3-1 loss

Not today. The Nats could not get the clutch hits but avoided the shutout thanks to a Wilmer Difo home run.

It was the day Anthony Rendon returned from the disabled list and the Nats sat 3 other starters to make a lineup that could not produce. The original plan was to sit just Trea Turner and Michael Taylor but then Ryan Zimmerman was a late scratch giving the Nationals too many missing parts it seemed. The red hot duo of Bryce Harper and Matt Adams were cooled down and a combined 0-for-7 with a walk on Adams ledger.

Tanner Roark gave up a two run home run to the second batter of the game and that was all the Phillies needed on this day. The six-game winning streak was stopped, and the Nats must now get back to winning ways to climb back over .500.
