This is a make-up game in many facets today as Joe Ross gets a chance to show he does belong in the Nationals rotation. Game #34 finished with a Matt Wieters walk-off and that was needed to make up for those frustrating losses the prior two days in Baltimore. Game #35 was rained out and gets played in much better weather conditions.
Technically if the Nationals win this game they sweep this home series and if they lose, it’s a series split.
Some fans of both teams dream of a Beltway World Series while others cringe at the mere thought.
To others, this is just another random inter-league game within the 162 game schedule. Dusty Baker is using this game as a rest day for any of his regular opening day starters older than 27-years-old except for Matt Wieters who did not start yesterday.
From the opening day line-up, there are only three regulars starting tonight: Trea Turner, Bryce Harper and Matt Wieters.
