What the Talk Nats community thinks about line-ups & CF!

We had well over 200 comments on TalkNats, Twitter comments, and emails as to our poll questions and line-up construction.

We had sjm308 with the most creative of line-ups as he went “LaRussa” on us.

Here is sjm308’s line-up:

  1. Werth
  2. Murphy
  3. Rendon
  4. Harper
  5. Zimmerman
  6. Espinosa
  7. Ramos
  8. Pitcher
  9. Taylor

At least 1 Tweeterer thought the pitcher batting 8th had merit, but as we showed Dusty through 2010 had never batted his pitcher 8th, and we couldn’t find any time he batted his pitcher 8th from 2011 to 2013.  Let’s see if Dusty tries this sjm line-up when MAT is in the starting line-up.

crsnats just put his new acquisition Justin Upton into his line-up suggestion:

  1. Werth
  2. Rendon
  3. Harper
  4. Upton
  5. Zimmerman
  6. Murphy
  7. Ramos
  8. Espinosa
  9. Pitcher

Gonat came up with his May 30th line-up which includes Trea Turner and a new acquisition of the lefty lead-off guy in his alternate line-up and bench lefty Kelly Johnson who would play when a righty is on the mound and rest needed for Werth and RZim:

  1. Lefty Leadoff CF
  2. Murphy 1B
  3. Rendon 3B
  4. Harper RF
  5. Ramos C
  6. CRob LF
  7. Kelly Johnson 2B
  8. Trea Turner SS
  9. Pitcher

Don aka Zmunchkin with the line-up that appears to be most statistically based :

  1. Werth
  2. Murphy
  3. Rendon
  4. Harper
  5. Zimmerman
  6. Espinosa
  7. Taylor
  8. Ramos
  9. Pitcher

The poll results was overwhelming going with the Lefty Lead-off guy over the big outfield bat which create a position change for Bryce to centerfield. A healthy Denard Span was the runaway choice in the poll over Charlie Blackmon for the Lefty Lead-off guy.

What does your line-up look like with Denard Span on the roster on Opening Day and on May 30th when we expect Trea Turner. Let’s see your line-ups.
