All of the sourced reports were correct that the Washington Nationals will play the Yankees in an exclusive Opening Night game on July 23 and broadcasted on ESPN at 7:08 pm EDT at Nats Park. The Nats will raise the 2019 Championship Banner on this day then play two more games against the Yankees on national broadcasts on FOX (Saturday, July 25) and TBS (Sunday, July 26). MLB Network presents the unveiling of the 60-game schedule tonight at 6:00 P.M. EDT; Nats cancel workouts for today!

2020 60-GAME MLB SCHEDULE TO BE ANNOUNCED ON A SPECIAL EDITION OF MLB TONIGHT PRESENTED BY CAMPING WORLD TONIGHT AT 6:00 P.M. EDT

MLB Network missed the opportunity to do a show on the 60-player pool selections a week ago, but they are not going to miss the chance to do a reveal of the 2020 60-Game Major League Baseball schedule. Tonight, live at 6:00 p.m. EDT on MLB Network and hosted by Matt Vasgersian with analysis from Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci, MLB Network will do a one-hour special and will unveil key matchups and dates of the 60-game schedule, which will begin on Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24.  It is widely anticipated that the New York Yankees will be in the nation’s capital to face the Washington Nationals as one of two games on opening night on July 23 in what is looking more likely as Gerrit Cole versus Max Scherzer although we should not count out Stephen Strasburg getting the honor.  Continue reading

From a source, general manager Mike Rizzo will have Asdrubal Cabrera and Howie Kendrick as key pieces in the infield and as designated hitters as of now. Summer Training starts today; Fangraphs ranks #Nats at 4th best in Majors!

If you feel like this is a case of déjà vu, you are not alone. This is the second pre-season of 2020 for Major League Baseball because of the initial stoppage of America’s game due to the COVID-19 pandemic on March 12th. Spring Training has been replaced by Summer Training due to the change from the vernal equinox to the summer solstice. The Nats open camp today and have nineteen more days until Opening Day 2.0. They will face a New York team on Opening Day but instead of the New York Mets who they were set to face on March 26th, the Nats will now play the other New York team — the Yankees. Continue reading
