Game #24 Nats face a lefty to complete this series

The Washington Nationals have another chance to do something special today and sweep a series for the first time since August 2021. Yes, another chance. The Nats had taken the first two games from the Minnesota Twins last week, but could not complete the sweep on Sunday. Now, the Nats get another bite at the apple against the New York Mets. The last time the Nats swept a 3-game series was in July 2021 before that infamous trade deadline. After another great pitching performance from MacKenzie Gore, the team showed up big last night for another quality win.

Josiah Gray showed his Westchester County people a Big Apple surprise

Just miles from New York City, Josiah Gray grew up in one of the toniest suburbs in America in Westchester County. It does not mean that he grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth or had it easy. He lost his father to cancer just after he was drafted in the second round of the 2018 draft. While his family and friends from New York made the trek to Queens, New York to see him pitch last night, one seat was noticeably empty where his father was not able to physically be there. That emptiness never leaves when a loved one departs too soon. Last night his father was definitely with him in that celestial way when he delivered a pitch that might have reshaped his pitching life.

Game #22 Nats first series of ’23 against the Mets

The Washington Nationals have their first meeting of the year with the New York Mets. If the Nats can reverse their record from last year, that would be a good goal. The Mets had some serious ownage of the Nats last year, and this offseason the Nats grabbed Trevor Williams and Dominic Smith as two former Mets that hit free agency in the offseason. One by choice was Williams, and the other by circumstance.

The Nats take a huge 6-0 victory in MASN lawsuit!

On February 14, 2022, the NY Court of Appeals heard the appeal from MASN in their ongoing dispute to pay the Washington Nationals their annual rights fees dating back to the 2012-2016 RSDC set fees. There have been several appeals made and a series of Nats’ wins in the courts with subsequent appeals by the Orioles side as the majority owner of MASN. Today, the NY Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Nationals by a 6-0 unanimous decision.
