The score says it all, as the Nationals lost by an embarrassing score of 16-1 Saturday night following their 6-3 loss earlier that day.

Collectively, two pitchers and outfielder Lane Thomas allowed the damage on the mound. Former Pirate, Chad Kuhl, took most of the damage, as the righty lasted just 3 2/3 innings allowing eight runs on seven hits and four walks in his fifth start of the season, ballooning his season ERA up to 9.41 on the season.

Game #24 Nats face a lefty to complete this series

The Washington Nationals have another chance to do something special today and sweep a series for the first time since August 2021. Yes, another chance. The Nats had taken the first two games from the Minnesota Twins last week, but could not complete the sweep on Sunday. Now, the Nats get another bite at the apple against the New York Mets. The last time the Nats swept a 3-game series was in July 2021 before that infamous trade deadline. After another great pitching performance from MacKenzie Gore, the team showed up big last night for another quality win.
