Game #4 First visit to the City of Brotherly Love

The Washington Nationals notched a series win to start their 2026 season. That gives you some confidence going into the start of this series in Philadelphia. The Nats have the team’s debut with Foster Griffin for this one.

The Phillies are coming off a rough weekend against the Texas Rangers. The Nats just have to hope that the Phillies stay cold. The Nats face their fourth pitcher in their rotation tonight with Taijuan Walker, and the MLB debut of top prospect Andrew Painter tomorrow. Then the Phillies are back to their top of the rotation on Wednesday with a lefty. Remember, Zack Wheeler is rehabbing in the minors after his TOS surgery last year.

With more good bullpen management, the Nats should be fresh today for this one except for Ken Waldichuk. Manager Blake Butera was able to rest Brad Lord over the weekend after his big load on Opening Day. Of course tomorrow, the Nats might use an opener to go with the debut of Zack Littell.

After yesterday’s game, Andres Chaparro was optioned back to Triple-A and the Nats have activated Curtis Mead after the team traded for him before Saturday’s game.
