Game #132 Nats are in Canada

The Washington Nationals are north of the border for a series with Toronto. After this game, there are only 30 games remaining in the season, and this is the final sprint to the finish line in this marathon.

The Nats have Josiah Gray going in this start, and the Blue Jays have Kevin Gausman. Manager Dave Martinez has a different look to his outfield today with Jacob Young in centerfield, and Alex Call in left field. Catcher Drew Millas was called up and added to the 40-man roster, and we felt the team was going to add Millas anyway since he was going to be Rule-5 eligible if not protected. With Millas up, that means that all Nats’ catchers on the active roster were all acquired in trades in 2021 with Millas coming from Oakland, Riley Adams from Toronto, and Keibert Ruiz from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“Millas is really a good athlete and can do a lot of things for us. … He’s a switch-hitter. He can pinch-hit. He can pinch-run. He is athletic … He’s very consistent with his hitting.
