Game #13 Nats are on a 3-3 road trip!

The Washington Nationals are at the rubber game of this series as well as the seven game road trip today. A win today for the Nats gives them a win in this series as well as a winning road trip. Currently, the Nats are 3-and-3 on this road trip, and Nats’ fans have to like what they have seen for a young team. The pitching has been better, and now it is getting consistent help from the offense that has seen their fair share of aces. While Mike Trout is in the starting lineup for this afternoon finale, Shohei Ohtani gets a much needed rest day.

The pitching staff overall did better on this road trip with the exception of Chad Kuhl. For Josiah Gray, he will go back to D.C. with a much improved ERA, and as of today ranks second in starter’s ERA on the staff and fractionally ahead of Trevor Williams. The staff ace, MacKenzie Gore, takes the mound today versus spot starter Griffin Canning for the Angels.

Manager Dave Martinez has Luis Garcia back in the lineup after four games of absence due to a tweak of his hamstring suffered in Colorado. Martinez is sticking with Keibert Ruiz again instead of going to Riley Adams with the day off tomorrow. After the game, the team will fly back to D.C. and enjoy their first day-off since March 31. The team will play the Cleveland Guardians in a weekend series.
