First things first, did you turn your clocks forward an hour? Great, we have 1:05 pm ET game today against the Cardinals in Jupiter. Many of the Cardinals are participating in the WBC, and the Washington Nationals are sending most of their starters to play in this game which is just north of West Palm Beach. The 14-mile drive up I-95 is a close one for Nats’ fans to attend games there. The Nats have MacKenzie Gore on the mound today for his fourth start of Grapefruit League play and expect him to throw 60-70 pitches in this one. Gore did not like how his fastball worked five days ago. The results were good but this is all about process. When manager Dave Martinez was asked who his Opening Day starter would be, he said he wasn’t ready to say. It will be interesting to see if Gore is kept on a schedule to start Opening Day on March 30. Starts on March 17, and March 22 on regular rest would give Gore an extra three days of rest before Opening Day. There are no more days-off until the March 27 family travel day to Washington, D.C. Obviously an extra day of rest for an upcoming  start would change that as you usually want one to two extra days — not three days. We will see. Today’s game is on Cardinals’ TV, and Charlie and Dave have the call on the radio.
