Today marks this as the 30th game remaining in the 2022 season for the Washington Nationals. This game for Nats fans is a back to the 2019 glory days. Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, and Patrick Corbin were the Big 3. Scherzer starts tonight for the Mets, Corbin for the Nats, and Strasburg is on the IL.
The Mets will be headed to the postseason while the Nats will be headed to early tee times. This is a time when the Nats are building for a future that will extend beyond Scherzer’s retirement. The future of Corbin and Strasburg are uncertain. But if you compare farm systems, the Nats rank higher than the Mets, and that could chamge the course of the NL East.
