The Washington Nationals really needed a win on Sunday, and they got it before boarding their flight last night to Atlanta.
As expected, the team placed RHP
Anibal Sanchez on the 10-day IL with a neck impingement. He will be replaced on the roster by
Josh Rogers who will be tonight’s starting pitcher.
In an interesting lineup change,
Lane Thomas is starting in centerfield tonight with
Victor Robles on the bench.
Tonight is replica World Series ring tonight for the Braves. That was something that Covid kept the Nats from doing with no fans in the stands in 2020.
Noticeably missing is
Freddie Freeman who signed last month with the Dodgers. For most of the last ten years, Freeman was a thorn in the Nats’ side.
