Game #103 Nats and Cubs look like a split-squad road game matchup after trade deadline moves!

The difference a day makes. This Washington Nationals roster looks like a scene from 2008 with Juan Soto playing the role of a third-year Ryan Zimmerman. The Cubs look the same. Both teams went into fire sale mode before this year’s trade deadline.

In all, these two teams traded 17 key players of which many were All-Stars and one, a future Hall-of-Famer in Max Scherzer.

Here is the names of the players who were traded: Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Craig Kimbrel, Joc Pederson, Andrew Chafin, Ryan Tepera, Jake Marisnick, and Trevor Williams from the Cubs, and Max Scherzer, Trea Turner, Brad Hand, Kyle Schwarber, Jon Lester, Daniel Hudson, Josh Harrison, and Yan Gomes from the Nats. The majority of these players have World Series rings.

Manager Dave Martinez has World Series rings from both of these teams.

Martinez has now said goodbye to almost all of his remaining players from his World Series roster this week.
