Get your food and favorite beverages ready for this game as the reigning Cy Young, Max Scherzer, and former Cy Young, Jake Arrieta, square off in the final game of his weekend series between the Washington Nationals and the Phillies.

The Nationals won Friday night’s game and the Phillies won yesterday making this game the pivotal game to determine who wins the series. For Scherzer, it is a pride game while also showing he can come back strong after he said he fatigued himself in his last start. The Nationals need to win this game to get back above the .500 mark and stay in the thick of the NL East.

The right-handed Arrieta got bombed in his last start for 6 earned runs and only lasted 3 2/3 innings in a game against the Marlins. The sinkerballer gave up 6 hits in that game against his sinker and each curveball in that game was hit fair were also hits.

Ryan Zimmerman will sit-out again today as he hurt himself diving on a double down the line on Friday night according to the Nats radio team. That keeps Matt Adams at first base and puts Andrew Stevenson to left field. Trea Turner, Michael Taylor and Matt Wieters all return to today’s line-up.  The Nationals have 6 of their opening day starters in this line-up today.
