Roark can’t get it done; Bullpen hit again for a few

As we wrote in the preview, would Tanner Roark be able to bounceback after a rough start? The answer was unfortunately was “no”. Roark was hit with 7 earned runs, and his ERA ballooned to 4.73. In the bullpen, both Blake Treinen and Enny Romero gave up earned runs.

On the offense, Trea Turner continues to scuffle and had a 0-5 day where his batting average dropped to .236. Turner wasn’t the only Nat who had an 0-fer as Bryce Harper had a 3-strikeout game.

The Nats worked back to a 4-4 tie in the game, but Roark could not keep the game tied. Roark gave up 4 walks and 8 hits over just 5.0 innings. Dusty Baker said after the game he doesn’t think Roark is hurt.
