Game #14 Joe Ross makes his debut in 2017; Corresponding roster moves Solis to the DL

The Nationals officially have added Joe Ross back to the MLB roster. In order to make room for Joe Ross, the Nationals have place Sammy Solis on the 10-day DL with shoulder elbow inflammation.

The biggest news of the night could be the debut of the new closer. You will have to stay tuned on that one to see who emerges from the bullpen later in the game, but Dusty Baker did say the closing duties would be shared by Koda Glover and Shawn Kelley as Blake Treinen moves back to his previous role. No surprises with any of that. With Shawn Kelley’s elbow history and durability, he could not be the only closer, and Koda Glover is too inexperienced.

The Nationals will face a familiar pitcher in Julio Teheran who they have faced many times. Bryce Harper has 36 career plate appearances against Teheran already in his career which includes 5 home runs. Teheran has also plunked Harper, Jayson Werth and Anthony Rendon in prior years.

Jose Lobaton has quite the history hitting Teheran, but it is Matt Wieters who gets the start tonight. Here is the matchup stats:
