Game #141 Rain, Rosters, Remembering

First off, we are twenty-one years removed from the horrific events of 9/11 when New York, Washington, DC, and America were attacked.  Being removed is just the years apart, and we must remember this day. We saw how baseball got America righted back in 2001 as we settled back into some normalcy. We must always remember. Baseball is about entertainment, but it also holds an important place in Americana.

Of course rain is pelting much of the mid-Atlantic and Philadelphia where today’s game is supposed to be played is getting rain. The tarp is off at the moment.

The Nats made roster changes leading into Friday with Keibert Ruiz to the IL, and calling up Israel Pineda. Today is the day he is set to make his MLB debut if the game is in fact played.

If the game isn’t played, MLB could ask the Nats to stay overnight, and play the Phillies tomorrow since this is the last chance to play before the scheduled final day of the season unless they do another doubleheader in DC at the end of the season and designate the Phillies as the home team. That has been done before. We will see.

Other roster notes, Luis Garcia hurt himself taking batting practice and he will sit out today with a sore oblique.
