Game #88 Tell me if you’ve heard this before: The #Nats need to win to avoid a sweep!

Five days ago, Paolo Espino had his worst start of his 2022 season. His 3.33 ERA in a small sample size still looks great, but he needs a bounceback game here in Atlanta to wrap up this three-game weekend series. The Washington Nationals are 30-57 on the season, and yesterday showed once again that they are close, but not close enough. The team flies back to Washington, D.C. after the game and has the day-off tomorrow. On Tuesday, the team will have a series with the Seattle Mariners. After today’s game, the All-Star team initial rosters will be announced. Will we hear Juan Soto and Josh Bell on this All-Star team or just one of them? There will be some snubs of course, but there will also be some players who won’t be able to play and that will open up additional spots on the roster. Soto ranks in the Top-6 outfielders, and Bell is in the Top-3 first baseman. So we will see on this. We are also in the final week of draft prep as the MLB Draft is just one week away. Also, trade rumors will be reaching a level of higher urgency as we are just 23 days from the trade deadline.
