Andry Lara Twirls a Quality Start in Wednesday’s MiLB Recap

Class-A Fredericksburg “FredNats” Nationals

Andry Lara tossed six innings of one run ball with six strikeouts. A tremendous start for the young hurler. Unfortunately, they could only muster three hits on the other side of the ball. FredNats lose a pitcher’s duel 1-0.

High-A Wilmington Blue Rocks

In Game 1 of the doubleheader, Rodney Theophile gave up three runs in five innings all on a three-run homer. He also struck out five and only walked one. Omar Meregildo was the only bright spot from the lineup – he hit a pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the 7th. The comeback would fall short 4-2. In Game 2, the Blue Rocks scored nine runs on 11 hits. Darren Baker had three hits and a double, and Yasel Antuna had two hits with a double of his own. They outhit the Cyclones in game 2, 9-5.

Double-A Harrisburg Senators

Alex Troop turned in another solid start. He was pulled after 4 2/3 with the bases loaded, then Alberto Guerrero came in and got out of the jam. The offense couldn’t cash in on their opportunities, they had 13 runners left on base. They did work seven walks, piece together seven hits and had an HBP, and with all of that traffic, the only run scored on a passed ball. Jack Dunn had two hits. Senators lose their win streak 3-1.

Triple-A Rochester Red Wings

The Red Wings game was a slugfest, with 22 combined hits. Alcides Escobar hit a home run in his rehab start. Joey Meneses and Jake Noll both hit home runs as well. Taylor Gushue and Adrian Sanchez also had two hits. The Red Wings lose 10-6.
