What Nationals Starter Had The Most Hitless Innings in 2021?

I’m tired of debating who is more at fault for why there is no baseball. There are no good guys in this debate.

That, combined with the fact that it is challenging to come up with ideas for a post that people can have fun with and discuss, means we have another question that folks can try to guess the answer to.

I (DonH) already know the answer. As does Steve. At some point when the question(s) have been mostly answered I will post the table with all the relevant players.

THE QUESTIONS

What Nationals’ starting pitcher had the most hitless innings in 2021. And this is a multi-part question – The most hitless innings

  1. The actual number of innings.
  2. As a percentage of complete innings (i.e., the pitcher started and finished the inning).
  3. As a percentage of innings started (i.e, the pitcher started the inning but was replaced.

Like before, this only includes players who were pitching for the Nationals. The only rule we have is that you have to do this from memory. No looking at game logs or any of the online resources that might have this info. Only those starters with at least 5 starts are included.

This question is a variation of a suggestion from stublues. He suggested that we do this separately for starters vs. relievers. I am saving the relievers for later; in part because I need to give some further thought about what metrics make the most sense for relievers.

HINTS

Here is how hints will be handled. The three questions above have to be done in order. No answers to any of the guesses for questions 2 and 3 until we are done with question 1. And once we are done with quesiton 1, no answers on question 3 until we are done with questions 1 and 2.

If you suggest a pitcher and he is top 3, we will confirm it.

Once all the top 3 have been guessed and confirmed, the next step is to guess the order.

And no combining of guesses into a single comment. That applies to multiple names for the same question; or multiple questions in a single comment. Such comments won’t get a response even if one or more of the guesses is correct.

BONUS

The bonus question is which starter, on a percentage basis, finished more of the innings he started.
