Game #128 Nats go with Sean Nolin as their starter against the Mets!

After the Washington Nationals took the first game in the series last night, it is a pitching mismatch tonight in favor of the New York Mets. But there is a reason we play the games. It was the Nats who traveled to NYC with very little sleep, but it was the Mets who were flat.

Tonight’s pitching matchup has Sean Nolin vs Marcus Stroman. Right now Stroman is pitching for a long-term contract as he is set to be a free agent. One person without long-term job security is the Mets’ manager Luis Rojas and if the Mets lose tonight, you have to wonder if Rojas will be around after this weekend.

For Nats’ manager Dave Martinez, he is going back to Lane Thomas in centerfield, and batting at leadoff. Robles will start the game on the bench.

There were no roster moves today on the Major League side for the Nats. One programming note is that Cade Cavalli will be starting tonight in his Triple-A debut for the Rochester Red Wings. He will be facing the Mets’ Triple-A team which features a few players who were on the Mets’ roster this season.
