Game #68 when one winning streaks ends, another begins!

This winning streak ended at five games, and the formula of scoring one run did not work again. In the second game of this doubleheader, the Nats will go with lefty Jon Lester. The Mets are set to throw a bullpen game with righty Robert Gsellman.

That great starting pitching streak ended along with the winning streak. The Nats had plenty of chances, and they could not push together runs when they had the opportunities.

In the pre-game, the Nats did get some encouraging news that Max Scherzer will be starting on Tuesday night after a successful bullpen session. The 3-time Cy Young winning pitcher is working his way back from groin inflammation.

Finally facing a righty pitcher, the Nats have a lineup that makes more sense than what they pieced together in the first game.
