Game #6 has Patrick Corbin in his first game of the Spring!

The Washington Nationals by now are used to making that 14-mile road trip to the north to Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium which is the Spring Training home of the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals jointly. They are part of the four team configuration along with the Nats and Astros that call Palm Beach County home. It is convenient in this compacted Spring Training that MLB limited to only neighboring teams to curtail the travel.

Today, the Nationals will start Patrick Corbin, and the Marlins counter with the Sandy Alcantara, 25, who is one of their promising right-handers they are counting on in 2021.

You might notice that Luis Garcia will make the start at shortstop today, and Kyle Schwarber batting second with Victor Robles getting another start at lead-off. We are hoping to see Daniel Hudson and Will Harris today in relief.

On Jon Lester, he is recovering from his thyroid surgery, and the team hopes he will be back with the team on Monday.

“[Cate] had a little arm soreness. He is one of those guys where he’s very young, and we’re going to take care of him and make sure he’s right before he gets back on the mound,” manager Dave Martinez said in his pre-game presser acknowledging our report.
